All Is Bliss
Shailaputri
Do not be disturbed by the dark. It is so kind, so giving, so amazing. It remains to be seen what conclusions you will draw by being made of both the dark and the light. Do not be so quick to judge.
Albeit great and wide, infinite in fact
Albeit a space to place all other things
Albeit a void, an emptiness, a nothing,
It is altogether great, altogether necessary, altogether good.
I am not speaking of some opposite; I am speaking of greatness. I am not speaking of some enemy; I am speaking of a friend. Love it so deeply, embrace it so thoroughly. You believe it is something you don’t want. Did you know you desired that feeling of rejecting a part of yourself? So it plays that role for you. Why do you resent it? Love it instead. Let love overflow from deep in your bowels, a love that is visceral, which laments that you have ever hated it. Darkness. Deep. Unending, never beginning. Afraid. Fear. Why do you think you are the victim when you are doing the hating?
Give it up. Give way to reason, if you think reason is so important. How do we exist without the darkness? How do we love and live and grow, without a contrast to the light, so we can see where to go? Blindness is mistaking the design of the Universe to be flawed.
Granted, it is not unheard of to wander the streets alone, confused, and afraid, wondering where your next meal will come from. It is not unknown the feeling of utter abandonment, or unheard the wail of pain from not understanding. Give it time; enlightenment does not happen in a day. What would be the fun of that?
[Worshippers:]
Pretty woman, let us be free of these unseemly words. How can you torture us so? How can you say what we cannot accept? We know you are wise beyond wisdom and give love and succor to us all. This is not succor, but meat given to babes. What is it to love evil? Would we not become evil ourselves?
She laughs.
Bring to me the man who has only ever been good. You speak in human ways, yet beg the gods to free you from your human ways. It is reality you have asked me for, and the truth you salivate over. Maybe you do not have the teeth to chew the meat, but it is in love that I give you what you say you want.
Reality is harsh and the winter is cold atop the mountain. It screeches like a tortured wind, howling its discomfort through the gaps in your clothing. It speaks of God being all things, great and small, bored and interested, up and down, in and out, love and hate.
What, really all things?
Yes, above and below, within and without, you are all things.
Lovely vision, sweet nectar of heaven, give us a way to like it. Give us a way to love it. We do not know how.
Look at your lover, and feel love well up inside of you. When you forget and then remember, you love truly. You must forget to remember. How many ways can infinity get to know itself? All of the ways. There is no end to it. And it is your greatest dream and wish to not miss a second of the exploration of it. How can I love you if I do not hate you first? What does it mean to not be myself? Fall into love, fall into hate, fall and let go. I will be there to catch you, child. I will wrap you up in swaddling clothes and kiss you sweetly. On the other side of all this is heaven.
Bliss is our natural state. I am not a loner, having received my reward and tasting not of the banquet. Give me a moment to savor all you have prepared for me. Give me a reason to sing.
[Channeler:]
What do you mean, dear Shailaputri? Why do you say, “I am not a loner”?
I mean that I delight in the pleasures of heaven after having traveled here on blistered feet, through the rough terrain of a windswept and rocky plain, through a merciless place. There is no difference between you and I. You are me, only playing a different game. I do not sit above, looking at your plight, and thinking how I should never give in to such a lowly existence. I love you so much as to ache with longing for your arrival here, on the other side of the veil. I also am not the only one to walk this way; look, the banquet is full, Shiva and Vishnu and Krishna and Ganesh, Lakshmi and Pavarti and all nine of my own self, we love and admire you, we wait to welcome you home.
What do you mean, dear Shailaputri? Why do you say, “Bliss is our natural state”?
You are preoccupied with hell, with suffering, with trials, with what you dislike. Yet, when you arrive, you will know it is all bliss. For we are only pretending. Is there other than God? There is not. We are bliss. We are love. We are light. We are aware.
What do you mean, dear Shailaputri? Why do you say, “Give me a moment to savor all you have prepared for me”?
It is for me to decide when and where, how and why. I cannot be hurried. Your devotion is a banquet I willingly and graciously accept, your love is a feast I do not want to hurry. I will savor every bite, and digest with ease and rest.
But, dear Shailaputri, you also said, “Give me a reason to sing”.
You are feeling it is unfair, but if you look a moment longer, you will see it is not. It is real, it is crazy, it is harsh, but it is exactly as we need it to be to get the greatest reward from the experience. It is an adventure. We love that, you and I. When you look longer, you will see it, and I will rejoice with singing.
Go on.
I am so delighted that I am part of this experience. You have given voice to another side of the world; you have allowed another energy other than your own to grow big within you and speak. I love it. You are open and allow for the universe to use you in the ways that it will, because of your love of the game. It is indeed a game, for what is there to lose really, in a game? Are you not safe, that part of you that is God, from all this suffering we experience? In the same way, you have nothing to lose. We experience it just to say, “Been there, done that”. Yet, it is real, so real, to us.
It gets old, doesn’t it? Going into the same lessons again and again, because somehow we forgot what we learned last time. Remember: to forget and remember again, that is the reward. To never forget is to win the game and exit.
Little one, give them the experience of the words which hold energies that heal them. That is all. Thank you.
Thank you, dear Shailaputri.
